Bringing together different talents, experiences, and skill sets can help employees develop creative and inventive solutions. Additionally, inclusiveness increases employee satisfaction and productivity. We all like to feel needed and valued for our contributions.
A well overdue appreciation to our Health & Safety and Operational Teams.
From 2005 we have received the NISO Award from the National Irish Safety Organisation every year.
Despite all the challenges and uncertainties COVID-19 brought to the industry in 2020, we have achieved the NISO Higher Distinction award.
This award recognizes the hard work of our Health & Safety and Training department, especially Greg O’Keeffe, our Training Manager who put in an incredible amount of work throughout the year.
We could not have received this award without the continuous support of our Operational Team who are imperative in implementing the procedures on our sites and make sure safety comes first in everything we do.
Well done everyone!

This year we have a special gift for our clients!
Cagney Contract Cleaning decided to make a significant donation to charity in lieu of Christmas gifts.
The charity we have chosen is one which is close to our hearts, The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation.
The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation is a nationwide charity that offers support, advocacy and an in-home nursing service to help children and their families under the age of five years who have a significant neurodevelopmental delay involving severe learning difficulties. This may include infants whose developmental future is uncertain. Support is also offered to all families whose child is approaching end of life within our age limit regardless of their diagnosis.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides help to thousands of families at Christmas, which includes gift vouchers, toys for small children, gifts for young people as well as gifts for adults. Even in an improving economy, it can still take just one thing to tip a family into crisis and poverty.
Our staff came together, becoming Secret Santas and Christmas Elves to support SVP’s Annual Giving Tree and Food Appeal initiatives. We are delighted to assist SVP in providing a little help for families in need.

October

The Year 2017 marks 40 years in business. Here is a little piece from Patrick Cagney about the beginnings of our Company and how we have gone from strength to strength over the last 40 years.
The 3rd October 1977 is the day I decided to start Cagney Contract Cleaning, so this year we are celebrating 40 years in business. I was studying accountancy and thought it was time to try something else. Together with my brother Ailin (of the Ailin Cagney Prize) we started a partnership. I worked at it full time and Ailin helped when he could but continued his job outside the company. We focussed on carpet cleaning in pubs and hotels and did quite well but it was very hard physical work mainly through the night. As a student Garvan helped me and when he left school in 1979 , we agreed Ailin would leave the company and Garvan and I would become partners on an equal basis. In the early days we used a network of friends and family to work with us on a part time basis to help get us established. Martin Maguire and
Tony Nugent worked with us even back in those days. Our father was a huge help in getting us going, loaning us his car, guaranteeing loans and even physically working , even though he was retired. Linda joined us in 1990 and with the help of all the hundreds of people who worked with and for us, we have got to where we are today. The company and our reputation is made up of all those thousands of employees over the last 40 years who contributed and helped us in delivering a service we can all be proud of.
We were helped along the way by all those clients , especially in the early days, who took a chance on us. The main lesson we have learnt in the last 40 years is that if you treat people fairly and with respect they will treat you in the same way. We have met so many people along the way, each with their own special contribution, and we want to thank everyone.
The company is still growing and lots of new people have joined us on the journey, bringing new ideas and sustained energy. Our sincerest thanks to everyone .
